Know-how
Our products are available in various RAL and DB colors. Do you already have a precise idea of the color design of the products selected for your project or would you like to get an overview of the colors in which we offer powder coating? We have put together an overview for you.
The surfaces are refined so that the materials receive full corrosion protection and can be used permanently with a beautiful appearance:
Steel, stainless steel or aluminium is pre-treated, primed and coated with a high-quality, weather-resistant polyester powder in the burning-in process, an additional protective layer for the products. According to customer requirements, almost any RAL or DB colours can be coated without surcharge. Using the DB glimmer colours, a powder with special metallic glimmer parts is added.
At locations with strong salty air, in particularly sun-intensive areas or in other extreme climates, we recommend an additional seawater-resistant coating at an extra cost. This ensures that the product can remain stylishly in use despite the harsh environment.
For public applications we recommend the additional use of an anti-poster and anti-graffiti protective layer in one at an additional cost. The anti-poster protection helps against unwanted stickers and flyers. The anti-graffiti protection prevents the penetration of graffiti paints. The homogeneous surface makes graffiti easy to remove. The protective layer is transparent, but the appearance is slightly differing from the standard: for DB colours it is somewhat matt and for RAL colours it is somewhat more pearly.
The natural stainless steel already forms a natural passive layer due to a chemical reaction between chromium and nickel and the oxygen in the air or in the water, which protects the surface of the material against environmental attacks. However, the passive layer can be damaged and then cannot be rebuilt by itself. This is often the case when the access of oxygen is prevented at mechanical connections, e.g. in tight corners or at welding seams. Pitting or crevice corrosion may be the consequences.
Passivation creates a chemical passive layer that is up to five times thicker than the natural passive layer and thus optimally protects the stainless steel. By grinding, the stainless steel surface becomes smooth, hard and homogeneous. Stainless steel with 240 grit is grinded as standard. Other grain sizes are possible on request.
Almost all products are made of stainless steel. The high-quality material is characterised above all by its very good corrosion behaviour and low-maintenance longevity. Unless otherwise indicated, stainless steel in V2A quality (grade 304) is used as standard. For locations with extreme climates or at locations near the salty sea, we recommend using stainless steel in V4A quality (grade 316) at extra cost.
In addition to stainless steel, hot-dip galvanised steel is also used in many street furniture products. A tried and tested material that can be shaped in many ways and is less expensive. The hot-dip galvanising is very durable and protects against corrosion for more than 40 years under normal conditions.
We manufacture all wooden slats for benches, litter garbage cans, bicycle leaning rails and planters from Kambala as standard. The light to medium brown Kambala wood, depending on the incision, with a calmly moving to lively structure, is a hardwood species. Its extraordinary hardness makes Kambala a wood suitable for extreme loads. Kambala is delivered natural, without wood stain. Depending on the sunlight and location, the colour of the wood changes from silver-grey to grey. The change in colour does not affect the properties of the Kambala wood. Kambala is naturally resistant to weather conditions, insect and fungal attack. We therefore only supply FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified Kambala wood.
On request, Kambala can also be supplied with a “teak” or “honey” wood stain. However, once glazed, the wood stain must be repeated by the customer at regular intervals. Other types of wood, such as oak, Siberian larch or ash, can be supplied on request.
We have plastic slats in our range for the KATJA bench. Plastic slats are particularly robust and are therefore recommended for applications that are permanently exposed to very harsh conditions such as seawater. The combination of an impact-resistant solid plastic core with a very hard acrylic surface creates a colour, UV and light resistant material that is seawater-proof, chlorine and alkali-resistant. The plastic imitates the wood look on the surfaces and cut edges so well that it is hard to see that plastic is used instead of wood. The special plastic is available in the colours magnetite or light brown. Other colours on request.
The glazings of the light elements as well as the HANNA cube and the information column OLE are made of PMMA RESIST. In the case of the HANNA and the OLE with an extremely resistant wall thickness of 10mm. The advantages are characterised by high rigidity, thermal resistance, mechanical strength and good wear properties. In contrast to polycarbonate, the covers do not turn yellow.
The CASPAR cycle stand has a plastic leaning protection. This is pulled onto the metal substructure. In everyday use, the plastic is tough, abrasion-resistant and easy to care for. It keeps its good appearance for years and is pleasant to the grip.
The translucent film specially developed for outdoor use is UV and colour resistant. It is resistant to extremely high and low temperatures. Experts apply the film to the HANNA and OLE light elements in such a way that they can no longer be recognised as a film, but rather melts into a unit. The film is a special highlight even during the day because of its colour or because of the individual information and images. At night, the light elements and signage systems shine through the film in their own splendour. The film is available in 12 colours. Other colours on request.
Trespa signs for signposts OLE are made from high pressure laminate panels with an integrated surface. The mixture of up to 70 percent natural fibers with thermosetting resins, pressed under high pressure and high temperatures, provides a highly stable, dense board with a good strength / weight ratio. Trespa is ideally suitable for outdoor use and looks great even after many years. Sun and rain have hardly any effect on the surface of the panels. The signs are available in a wide range of colours.
For tree grids, prefabricated foundations are made of normal concrete with sand and gravel, which are round or square depending on the type. Natural stone chippings, basalt chippings, are used for the decorative benches THOMAS. The benches are coloured and have a very abrasion-resistant surface which is interspersed with the embedded grains of the built-in hard rock. The visible and used surfaces are sandblasted.
