PhoTech - Photonic processes as a technology basis for the purification of indoor air, urban air and industrial exhaust air
THE FUTAIR IS CLEAN
With this claim, the phoTECH alliance wants to declare war on air pollutants that are harmful to the environment, climate and health.
THE FUTAIR IS CLEAN - with this claim, the phoTECH alliance wants to declare war on air pollutants that are harmful to the environment, climate and health (‘The air is clean’) and for which there are currently no effective or practicable solutions (‘The future is clean’). PhoTECH stands for innovative photonic, i.e. light-based, technologies that open up completely new possibilities for cleaning supply and exhaust air flows with complex or unresolved pollutant loads.
In order to be able to tap into these technical possibilities and thus also very large application and market potentials, photonic cleaning processes must be further developed technologically. With the help of innovative technology combinations, they must be transformed into intelligently controlled air purification solutions that can be flexibly adapted to a wide range of application requirements. The areas of application range from buildings, production lines, agricultural and biotechnical processes to transport and urban areas.
The goals
In the coming years, PhoTECH intends to further develop a joint innovation platform into a technology toolkit from which highly efficient and effective photonic cleaning solutions for a wide range of pollutant emissions can be flexibly assembled. On this basis, the alliance not only wants to make a substantial contribution to the fight against air pollutants and practical environmental, climate and health protection. It also wants to overcome the technical and economic barriers to implementation that often exist in the field of emission control today.
In order for the alliance to successfully address the market from its innovation base in the future, it must deliver air purification solutions that can be used flexibly, are highly effective and can be operated at acceptable costs - i.e. clear advantages in use compared to known solutions. However, these solutions cannot only be realised through the innovative combination of photonic core technologies. They also require the intensive interaction of all phoTECH competences with regard to effective market sensitisation, securing the regional specialist base and a promising market entry and scaling strategy. Accordingly, the development of these competences is also an integral part of the alliance's objectives.
