FLOOD-PRONE AREA CELEBRATES UNIQUE LIGHTING

Bodenwerder, the Münchhausen town on the Weser River, is a popular destination for tourists and cyclists. About 60 km south of Hanover, the lively riverside promenade with its restaurants, seating areas, and the Weser fleet attracts many visitors every year. To make this central location even more appealing, the entire promenade was equipped with innovative lighting and high-quality urban furniture from LEIPZIGER LEUCHTEN. The lights JOSEPH I and the light columns STELLA L IX were installed, creating a welcoming atmosphere with their warm illumination. The challenge: The riverside promenade is located in a flood-prone area of the Weser, so the technology is installed in the mast above the critical water level and is reliably protected against moisture. In the STELLA column, in addition to the basic lighting, RGB lighting is integrated, which can bathe the area in red, blue, or green for special events. The lighting is complemented by bollards, utility posts, tree guards, and bicycle racks, which are not only practical but also designed to match each other. Here, too, solutions had to be found to deal with the flood risk. For example, trash bins and benches can be quickly removed by the local public works department at the first warning of rising water. The durable concept, with its clear design language, robust materials, and innovative technology, is boosting visitor numbers. This makes the Weser promenade in Bodenwerder a true experiential space for both residents and guests. A FUNCTIONAL OVERALL CONCEPT THAT CREATES ATMOSPHERE
