ALFONS ILLUMINATES BRIDGE IN BLUE LIGHT
Gronau, a small town in Lower Saxony, is surrounded by an idyllic landscape with charming streets. As part of the town centre redevelopment in Gronau, a number of special projects were also realised. These include, for example, the new lighting for the Steintor bridge. For this project, ALFONS luminaires were fitted with blue LEDs that evenly illuminate the road over the river with 2400lm each from a height of 6m. Blue light was chosen for two reasons. Firstly, the blue light symbolises the water and thus refers to the river landscape below the bridge. Secondly, the blue light has a positive effect on human well-being and helps the body to produce happiness hormones during the dark winter months, making people more active. The city's residents are full of enthusiasm for the newly illuminated bridge. The blue light, which is specifically directed onto the road in a cycle path look, gives the place a very special charm. The positive response has been so great that plans are already being considered to equip another bridge with blue light to further promote the joy and sense of community among the people of Gronau.
