ALFRED BRINGS LIGHT TO BURGSTÄDT.
Burgstädt in Saxony has recently installed new, energy-efficient and environmentally friendly historic street lights. This measure is part of a modernisation aimed at preserving the historic character of the town while minimising energy consumption and environmental impact. The straight-lined, four-sided ALFRED luminaires are designed in a historic style and blend in visually with the architecture and charm of Burgstadt's Wilhelminian-style buildings. This contributes to the preservation of the cultural heritage. Equipped with LED technology, they consume less energy, have a longer service life and are easy to maintain. The LED lighting also reduces CO2 emissions. Despite the frosted glass, the internal louvre directs the light further downwards while maintaining the softness of the LED modules, which means that residents have less light spill into the windows. The installation of the new luminaires was carried out in several phases and involved close collaboration with local authorities, conservation experts and residents. The old luminaires were disposed of or recycled in an environmentally friendly manner. This measure is an example of the successful integration of traditional design with modern technology to promote sustainable urban development.
