LIGHT FOR PLACES WITH HISTORY

LIGHT FOR PLACES WITH HISTORY Around 25 kilometers west of Munich lies Fürstenfeld Monastery – one of Bavaria’s most significant Baroque monastic complexes. This listed historic site, with its remarkable architecture and expansive outdoor spaces, places high demands on its lighting: it must provide safe orientation without overshadowing the character of the location. For this project, the STELLA bollard luminaire was further developed as a project-specific custom solution. Its clean, understated design blends seamlessly into the historic surroundings. The LED module was recessed 20 millimeters deeper into the luminaire head. This reduced light aperture enables more precise light distribution while minimizing the visual presence of the light source. Pathways and open spaces are illuminated evenly and glare-free – delivering light exactly where it is needed. THE RESULT IS A LIGHTING SOLUTION THAT ENSURES SAFETY AND CLEAR WAYFINDING, RESPECTS THE HISTORIC ARCHITECTURE, AND PRESERVES THE UNIQUE ATMOSPHERE OF THE SITE.
