BRIDGE LIGHTING BETWEEN FUNCTION AND DESIGN

At Peterssteg in Leipzig, specially developed PETERS bridge luminaires provide orientation, safety, and a distinctive visual presence in the urban space. Set within a context of water, historic architecture, and green areas, they shape the bridge itself as much as its appearance from the water. At 2.21 meters high and emitting glare-free light, the form of the large luminaire is reminiscent of a sail, while its presence evokes a lighthouse—serving as a point of orientation both on the bridge and from the water. They are complemented by large-format recessed luminaires integrated into the railings, which mark and illuminate the pathway. The result is a well-conceived lighting concept for both pedestrians and boat traffic—clear, high-quality, and site-specific. FUNCTIONAL AND SCULPTURAL LIGHT FOR LEIPZIG’S WATER CULTURE.
