SASKIA AND LOTTA DESIGN A SQUARE FOR EVERYONE IN ORADEA

Oradea is a major city in northwestern Romania, near the Hungarian border. As part of a renovation project in 2024, a public space has been created in front of the Orthodox Church Piațeta Cazaban, which also benefits from the lighting provided by LEIPZIGER LEUCHTEN’s SASKIA and LOTTA. SASKIA, standing six meters tall and crafted from angled aluminum profiles, frames the square as elegant sentinels, ensuring uniform illumination. Directly opposite, along the shopping street, LOTTA columns create a pleasantly lit promenade zone that invites visitors to linger. Unobtrusively, SASKIA and LOTTA complement the architectural concept. The glare-free luminaires set deliberate accents, provide orientation and safety, and enhance comfort. The multi-generational square masterfully balances the needs of teenagers visiting the sports hall and youth center with those of families and older visitors who make the square their focal point during the summer months. Lighting plays a central role in this. Recessed ground lights and colorful water features on the square further enhance the quality of the space. CREATING A MODERN, OPEN URBAN SPACE FOR ALL RESIDENTS OF ORADEA, WITH SASKIA AND LOTTA.
