Refshaleøen, once an industrial hub of Copenhagen, was home to the historic Burmeister & Wain shipyard for over a century. Today, culture, gastronomy, and creativity define the area – a place that preserves its raw charm while embracing innovation. Between old factory halls, modern bars, and urban open spaces, a vibrant meeting point for locals and visitors is emerging. The ALFONS I luminaire was chosen to illuminate the site. Its simple design and robust die-cast aluminum construction reflect the industrial character of the location. The optical system with multilayer, replaceable lens optics ensures directed, glare-free light, making it ideal for pathways, squares, and outdoor areas. Thanks to various available light distributions, the luminaire can be adapted to different requirements. In the parking area, ALFONS was equipped with CLEVER LIGHT. The dimmed system only increases the light output when needed, enabling dynamic, energy-efficient illumination. This is particularly advantageous in event areas with irregular usage. With its precise light control, Dark Sky suitability, and durable materials, our luminaire blends harmoniously into the surroundings: functional, sustainable, and aesthetic — just like Refshaleøen itself.
