CUSTOM LUMINAIRE TELLS THE STORY OF THE CLOTH MAKERS IN BRAMSCHE
SPECIAL INSTALLATION TELLS THE STORY OF CLOTH-MAKING IN BRAMSCHE The town of Bramsche, located in north-western Germany, is known for its centuries-old tradition as a hub of cloth-making. For the Tuchmacher Museum in Bramsche, LEIPZIGER LEUCHTEN has supplied and configured two bespoke „CLOTH-MAKER“ projector installations that visually depict the steps involved in cloth production. The unique 7-metre-high installation is designed to reflect this historical narrative: the red, 2-metre-long metal sail, seemingly billowing in the wind and encasing the five gobo projectors, symbolises the finished fabric. The process of cloth-making is illustrated through five sequential motifs that appear when visitors press a button on an information panel at the mast. These images guide the viewer through the journey of transformation - from raw sheep’s wool to spun thread, from spindle to loom, and finally to the completed cloth. The projected images and the concept of the installation were developed by @OC_Lichtplanung. We turned their designs into a unique, custom-made piece and completed its on-site configuration. This was a rewarding project that brought us great satisfaction and, we hope, will delight future visitors to the Tuchmacher Museum. LIGHT THAT TELLS A STORY.
