LIGHTING FOR THE NEW WERDAU STATION
Werdau, located around 90 km south of Leipzig and just three stops before Zwickau, is once again easily accessible by train. The city now boasts a modern, barrier-free station. The original station from 1845 was demolished and replaced with a contemporary building designed to meet today’s needs: accessibility, new bicycle parking, short-term bicycle garages, and car parking all contribute to greater comfort and safety. Despite opposition from a local citizens’ initiative, the renovation marked a forward-looking step for the region. The STELLA L IV/15 DA LED lighting column was used for the project. The luminaire is controllable via a CLEVER LIGHT module. Two discreetly integrated motion sensors in the column detect activity and adjust the lighting level accordingly. All luminaires were finished with an anti-graffiti and anti-poster combination coating. Depending on the location, different mounting heights were chosen (6 m, 5.5 m, 4 m, 3.5 m). SMART STELLAS were also installed. Cameras with day/night functionality and sound columns for announcements and music were seamlessly integrated into the station square.
