STREETS AND PATHS IN THE “FLORAGARDEN” RESIDENTIAL AREA ILLUMINATED WITH STELLA AND PETRA.
In 1892, a metal and iron foundry was opened on the site in Pankow and some ceramics were manufactured for the electrical industry until 1995. After the 23,000 m² area lay fallow for over a decade, around 280 apartments were built by 2015 and around 60 million Euro invested. The development is seen as a “careful reinterpretation of the neighboring old buildings from the beginning of the 20th century”. In the dark hours, the STELLA steles illuminate the private street, which are also play streets. The difficulty of the classic-modern façade was to adapt the lighting to the balconies and narrow streets in front. This meant that initially planned satin lamp heads were rejected, as they caused too much glare for the residents. With their lens system, the STELLA steles only shine downwards and not upwards (dark sky). The upper part of the cylinder is partially satinized to soften the light. In areas where the balconies and windows are particularly close, opaque films were also used. The small PETRA bollard lights, which are only 0.60m high and illuminate on one side, set accents and show the way to the terraces or house entrances. A harmonious system for comfort and security for the modern living experience. URBAN AREAS OF THE DIVERSE FLORA DISTRICT FURTHER DEVELOPED WITH PETRA AND STELLA.
