ANDREW ENSURES A HARMONIOUS OVERALL CONCEPT

"The Kurhaus in Bad Nenndorf, Lower Saxony, originally built in 1963 according to the plans of architect Prof. Ernst Zinsser, has been renovated and modernised. Extensive changes were made: parts were demolished, sightlines were reopened, and a spatially defining forecourt for pedestrians was created. This allows passers-by to once again stroll along a row of shops and restaurants, as they did in the past. To enable the use of walkways, shops, and restaurants during the evening hours, LEIPZIGER LEUCHTEN custom-manufactured 13 ANDREW luminaire heads, each nearly 1 metre long, mounted on 8-metre-high columns with diameters of 273 mm and 350 mm. With an output of 7,400 lumens and warm white light at 3,000 K, these post-top luminaires provide uniform and pleasant illumination for the forecourt and the second level. The columns were structurally connected to the building, allowing the architecture to integrate the lighting harmoniously. Around the Kurhaus, PETRA bollards were installed to clearly define the surrounding area. Bad Nenndorf – a fine example of the successful interplay between light, architecture, and urban atmosphere."
